Program Details
Why is this program important?
So many of us would not think twice about having a
book. Imagine a child who has never had a book of his
own. At age 28, Andrea's sister, Christina still receives at
least one children's book at Christmas. She wants other
children to know the same joy.
Where do the books go?
The books are given to underprivileged children,
many of who never have owned a book. The books are distributed
through schools, food pantries, and homeless shelters.
How can I help?
There are many ways to help. One way is to
bring new or gently-used to Anderson's Bookshop. Starting a
collection at your local school to give to children at schools in
the Chicagoland area who don't have their own books. Once you
collect the books, contact Anderson's to arrange pickup and
distribution of the books. Take a look at the Project Ideas
section for more ideas. |
